Getting lean and strong shouldn’t be a punishing process. Think about it – you’re doing something amazing for your long-term health and happiness. You’re (hopefully!) learning valuable skills about moving and nourishing your body. This is stuff you can carry over to work, relationships, your life outside the gym.
Why do so many people “grind” through the process of training – only happy when they reach their goal?
Enjoying the process is a beautiful thing. Here’s how to fall in love with a daily fitness lifestyle.
Stop constantly thinking about the end goal – make the daily process your reward (and the end goal a bonus!)
Celebrate little wins, like PBs in the gym, consistent days ticked off, and making new habits
Track your progress along the way – don’t let your final “after photo” be the only thing that makes you happy.
Find non-body goals to celebrate. Weight loss and body composition changes are great, but what about how you feel and what your body can do? Make note of the whole lifestyle of being in a good routine, feeling energetic and strong, confident and focused.
Look for something to celebrate every day or week, and it will be less stressful and more positive - just as it should be!
You’re doing an amazing, life-changing thing. Be proud!
