Strength Training Secrets For Women

WHY strength train?


Strength training has tons of benefits specific to women. Physically, it boosts bone density, muscle mass, and even your metabolic rate. It will improve your posture and shape your physique. On a mental level, training with weights will make you feel like a superhero. Strong, confident, powerful, and capable.


HOW to strength train?


Research tells us women can recover better than men from high volume training. This is backed up by my years of coaching women. It’s not just a case of women being able to withstand more volume – most actually need it to see results. Train with a combination of low and high rep ranges, and don’t be afraid to train 4+ times a week. The high-frequency approach will probably suit you.


WHAT to strength train?

Women tend to be naturals at lower body moves like squats, lunges, and deadlift variations. And that’s great, because your lower body has most of the big muscle groups. But don’t neglect upper body training. This means pressing, pushing, and pulling movements for your back, shoulders, and chest. Balanced training will result in a balanced body and a great posture.
